Workshop on Career and Professional Development.

The aim of the workshop was to encourage professional development of young women, with emphasis on resume writing and cover letter construction. The event comprised of three sessions.

Sadia Ahmed (COO – WEmpower Pakistan) gave the opening remarks on the first session and introduced the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) to the attendees. Dr. Ayeesha Mujeeb (Chairwoman – WEmpower Pakistan) outlined the main objectives of the workshop. This was followed by a demonstration by Dr. Tabassum on how to compose resumes, CV’s, and cover letters. The first session was concluded by a presentation on Mock Interviews by Courtney Castelli.

The second part of the event focused on a research talk by an emerging scientist, Farzeen Shahid, who demonstrated her self-designed prototypes of flying Robots as a part of her Ph.D. project.

The final part of the event was a one-on-one session of the attendees with their assigned mentors for CV clinics and Mock interviews.
