Rukhma Javaid

PhD student in Bioengineering at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, KSA

Rukhma Javaid is currently enrolled as a PhD student in Bioengineering at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, KSA. She completed her master’s in biomedical engineering from Texas A&M University, TX, US. She got her bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from University of Gujrat.

Her research interests encompass additive manufacturing, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Her expertise includes polymer synthesis, hydrogel ink development, 3D printing, materials characterization and testing techniques, in vitro cell functionality assessment and imaging techniques with good laboratory practices.

She was selected for Fulbright Foreign Student Program (2021-2023) for master’s in biomedical engineering. During her master’s, she was awarded with Graduate Student Scholarship twice and was recognized at Biomedical Engineering Awards Banquet at Texas A&M University. She is also a member of Alpha Eta Mu Beta (AEMB), the National Biomedical Engineering Honor Society, which aims to promote professional development and welfare of its members.

As the Chief Administrative Officer at WEmpower Pakistan, she works hard to ensure smooth operations and efficient coordination across departments. She works towards optimizing resource allocation, and implementing organizational policies and procedures.  

Outside her working hours, she loves to travel, paint, socialize, and volunteer.
