Faiza Syed

Faiza Syed is a microbiologist and works independently as a technical content developer for various organizations. She has previously worked with Youth for Peace, a non-profit organization, with responsibilities including content development, and public communication via social media platforms and blog publishing.  

She did her M.Phil in 2016 from Quaid-i-Azam University, majoring in Medical Microbiology. Her bachelors was in Applied Biosciences from National University of Science and Technology, Pakistan. Faiza has completed certifications from Virtual University, Pakistan and has experience in SEO, creative writing and digital marketing.

Her research focus during her bachelors and masters was on Uropathogenic Strains of  Escherichia coli. Faiza’s Bachelor’s thesis was on the environmental impact and dissemination of nosocomial strains of E. coli into the general environment and water bodies. In her M.Phil she studied the molecular mechanisms that can make a multidrug resistant strain more adept to its host environment, thus providing an added advantage towards pathogenesis and immune system evasion.

She received a fellowship grant throughout the course of her M.Phil and through several semesters of her Bachelors. 

Her responsibilities as CMO – WEmpower Pakistan include management of the WEmpower social media channels and the WEmpower website and blog development and maintenance.

In her free time, Faiza enjoys writing for her personal blog, arts and crafts and traveling.
