Dr. Hassina Tabassum

Dr. Tabassum is an eminent young scientist with an extensive experience in advanced energy
conversion and storage devices. She has transferred several lab-scale research projects of
energy devices to industrial prototypes. Recently, She accomplished a U.S. Department of
Energy’s Advanced Research Project and transferred her Hydrogen energy-based research to
an industry prototype by Bettergy Corporation (Peekskill, NY).
Dr. Tabassum is working as a Materials Scientist at Toyota Research Institute of North
America, USA. Recently, She accomplished her Postdoctoral studies at the State University
of New York at Buffalo, USA. Before this, she was a Boya Postdoctoral fellow at Peking
university. She has published several high-quality research articles. Her publications have
been cited more than 3500 times with H-index of 29. She is also the recipient of numerous
awards, including Peking University’s best academic award 2016, Top Ten Best Young
Researchers Award of Peking University 2017, Joule Star Talk Award 2019, and the
International young scientist funding award 2020. Her research interests are based on the
fabrication of advanced nanomaterials for electrochemical energy conversion and storage
devices towards zero-emission mobility. Besides her professional activities, she performs her
role of installing positivity for the betterment of STEM women’s societies at national and
international forums.
At the WEmpower forum, Dr. Tabassum led the development and execution of long-term
strategies for building the network among educational/industrial research through national
and international collaborations during the organization’s formative years.
