Sadia Ahmed - Chief Operations Officer (COO)

Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), Beijing

Sadia Ahmed is an ambitious material scientist, currently pursuing a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) (Beijing, China). Her Master’s was in Chemistry from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and her Bachelor’s was in Analytical Chemistry in 2014 from the University of Gujrat (Gujrat, Pakistan).

Sadia’s research focuses on the organic synthesis of porous organic polymers (POP’s). The POP’s are a modified class of metal organic frameworks (MOF’s) and covalent organic frameworks (COF’s). Owing to the nature of the POP’s they have extensive applications in catalysis, gas capturing, acid base sensing, pollution control and even in medical fields to encapsulate drugs. During her research career, Sadia has also worked with complex computational software’s such as Material Studio, MATLAB and SYBYL, among others. Her computational work was mainly targeted towards studying the chemistry of Organometallic Catalysis used in Ethylene Polymerization by employing MLRA and 2D, 3D- QSAR analysis. Sadia has published her research on ‘Catalytic Activities of Bis-(Penta-methylene)-pyridyl(Fe/Co) Complex Analogues in Ethylene Polymerization by Modelling Method’ and on the ‘Effect of cycloalkyl-fused ring on the catalytic performance of bis-(imino)-pyridine metal complexes by QSPR modelling’. She has also secured scholarships during her academic career including the UCAS Fellowship for International Students for her MS degree and a CSC Scholarship for International Students for her PhD tenure.

Besides being a versatile chemist, Sadia has an extensive teaching career. She taught at the Higher Secondary Level for two years at Army Public College, Sarai Alamgir. She has received multiple prestigious awards during her career, which include Certificate of Appreciation of International College of UCAS and a Distinction in Chinese Language Level HSK-3 in 2019.

Sadia is the Chief Operating Officer of WEmpower Pakistan. Her responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day operations of the organization, execute the plans approved by the Chairwoman, CEO and the core team. As a COO, Sadia also works closely with the CIO and the CMO to ensure that tasks are completed on time and events planning and logistics.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, outdoor sports and keeping track of latest fashion trends.
