The digital lecture series will enable the participants to acquire specific skills to help in their professional life as well as research career. This summer we are offering online lectures and webinars for career and professional development. Please check this page regularly for updates.

The Objective

  • Webinars for professional development that will be a few hours long.
  • Skills include introductory and intermediate level courses on essential software and skills to supplement a research oriented career.

Characterization Techniques in Material Science

This summer lecture, Characterization Techniques in Material Science, offers an introductory yet insightful look into the tools and methods used to analyze and understand material properties. Led by Dr. Uzma Hira, Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University of the Punjab, the course will cover key techniques. Ideal for students and early-career researchers in chemistry, physics, and materials science, this session will help participants build a foundational understanding of how materials are studied at the micro and nano scale.

Mastering SDGs: A Call for action

Mastering SDGs: A Call for Action is an engaging and thought-provoking session designed to explore how individuals, researchers, and institutions can actively contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The webinar will be led by Dr. Amara Dar, Assistant Professor at the School of Chemistry, University of the Punjab, Lahore, with over 18 years of experience in academia and research. A TechWomen Emerging Leader (2022 cohort) and recipient of multiple research grants — including one from the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK) — Dr. Dar will share actionable insights on integrating SDGs into scientific research, academic initiatives, and lab-based work, particularly in developing countries. This session is perfect for educators, researchers, students, and professionals committed to making a sustainable impact.
